Colorado River Canoe Trip

Hello to everyone.

We just got back from a fun 4 days on the California/Arizona border. We drove to Needles and joined up with 2 other families and paddled 6 canoes from Bullhead City to Lake Havasu City (technically Castle rock). It was a lot of fun. The canoes were big enough to carry our big tents and stoves. So we slept and ate well. No dehydrated stuff!! We canoed a total of about 47 miles over 3 days. There were beautiful gorges (Topock Gorge) with ancient Indian petroglyphs that we walked to. It started out cold 50-ish (for us) and raining. It soon cleared and was in the high 70 low 80's. Most of the time the wind was behind us - but at the end of 2 of the days the wind was cruel and we had to paddle into it. This was a practice trip to prepare for the Boy Scout trip in November.
